Woerdeman named executive director of Home Inc.

204 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyCarrie Woerdeman was named executive director of Home Inc., the oldest private nonprofit housing organization in Des Moines. Woerdeman brings more than 16 years of experience in property management, real estate development and community engagement to the organization, where she’ll replace Tony Montgomery, who left the organization in March. “I could not be more excited to step into the role of executive director for Home Inc.,” Woerdeman said in a news release. “Rarely does an opportunity come along that so perfectly aligns passion and skill set in a way that has the potential to impact the landscape of affordable housing so positively in our community. I look forward to working with the Home Inc. team to tackle housing affordability in Central Iowa.” Woerdeman will begin her new position on Aug. 8. She most recently served as state programs director for Iowa Finance Authority. Woerdeman has also served as director of development for Kading Properties in Urbandale, where she helped bring more than 550 workforce housing units to communities throughout Iowa. Before that, she was vice president of operations of T&L Properties in Granger, leading a team that managed a portfolio of affordable and market-rate multifamily housing, office, retail and self-storage.
