The Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center’s 21st annual Women Helping Women Luncheon on May 17 raised a record $210,000, which will be used to provide mental health counseling and education to underserved women and girls. More than 600 people attended the event, which was keynoted by Gina Skinner-Thebo, founder of the Atwood Center for Women, an organization to empower and connect women that is best known for its Incredible Women Parties. She is a member of the 2019 Forty Under 40 class. Community leader and mental health advocate Susan Voss was this year’s event honoree.
