Women nonprofit leaders’ salaries still lag those of men, report finds

A report from GuideStar finds that the salaries of female nonprofit executives continue to lag behind those of men in comparable positions, the Chronicle of Philanthropy reports. Based on 2013 data, the 2015 GuideStar Nonprofit Compensation Report found the gap for CEOs is widest at nonprofits with budgets between $2.5 million and $5 million, where women earn 23 percent less than their male peers ($111,183 vs. $136,882), and narrowest at organizations with budgets of less than $250,000, where they earn 6 percent less ($42,105 vs. $44,592). Over the past decade, the gap narrowed slightly at nonprofits with budgets of less than $1 million and of at least $50 million, while it widened at those with budgets of between $1 million and $50 million.Read more
