Woodward receives grants for Eco-Business Park
Iowa Network Services, a network of telecommunication companies in Iowa, will provide a “Ripple Effect” grant of $3,500 to the city of Woodward to help develop the city’s Eco-Business Park. The grant will be used as part of the city’s required match to apply for an energy fund grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The INS grant was matched with another $3,500 by Minburn Communications, the city’s full-service telecommunications provider. The 463-acre Woodward site last week was designated by the state as a pilot site for a new Green Certification program, which acknowledges the growing demand for environmentally sensitive design. Within the site, 150 acres are certified for business development, with the remaining acres serving as support services and housing, all of which will adhere to sustainable development.
