Xenia expenses race ahead of revenues
The Xenia Rural Water District had revenues of $10.5 million and expenses of $19.8 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2010, a state audit found. Revenues increased less than 1 percent over the prior year, due primarily to a rate increase, Iowa Auditor David Vaudt said in a news release. Expenses increased 54.5 percent. Revenues included water sales of $9,531,751 and system connection fees of $376,867.
