Yanney, Hubbell, Tyler named to Iowa Business Hall of Fame

311 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, Retail and BusinessThe Greater Des Moines Committee has name Charese Yanney, James Hubbell III and James Tyler to the Iowa Business Hall of Fame for their outstanding contributions to the development and enhancement of Iowa’s business climate.
- Charese Yanney is managing partner of Guarantee Roofing, Siding and Insulation Co. of Sioux City. She has worked for the company since 1976 and previously taught in Sioux City schools. She is a member of the Iowa Transportation Commission and the Vision Iowa board of directors and has served on a range of local and and state boards and commissions. Yanney was inducted into the Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame in 2010.
- James W. Hubbell III returned to Des Moines from Chicago in 1973 to work for Hubbell Realty Co. Within a decade, he was redeveloping the company’s assets, mostly downtown. The company built Kaleidoscope at the Hub and developed Capitol Center I, II & III and Riverpoint Business Park. Hubbell expanded the company’s focus to include land development, construction, commercial brokerage and single-family and multifamily housing. Now board chairman, Hubbell also has served on the boards of Iowa Health System, Bankers Trust Co. and the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and on the Drake University board of trustees.
- James Tyler is the second-generation family owner of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Co., which he has managed since 1958. In 1975, Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling purchased the Des Moines area Coca-Cola franchise. In 1989, Tyler led the way as the company moved to a larger campus in Waukee. Tyler became the company’s chairman in 1991. He served on the Atlantic School Board for nine years and held high positions in the Atlantic Rotary Club, Atlantic Golf & Country Club and Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. He also served as president of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.
