YSS, an Iowa-based youth-serving nonprofit, has received a 2024 Lived Experience Impact Grant from Youth Villages. It is one of eight organizations nationwide to receive this recognition. YSS delivers a range of services aimed at enhancing the well-being of Iowa’s youth and families, addressing issues such as abuse, addiction and trauma. The organization will use the $25,000 grant to establish workforce development initiatives linked to sustainable farming at YSS’s Iowa Homeless Youth Center in Des Moines. Youth Villages is a national provider of mental and behavioral health working through direct services, advocacy and partnerships with other agencies to bring positive change to child welfare, children’s mental health and justice systems.
