The Young Women’s Resource Center (YWRC) has received $10,000 from the Principal Financial Group Foundation to continue prevention programs it has developed to help young girls become “independent, resilient and successful young women.”

YWRC offers girls problem-solving groups, after-school groups, therapy, anger management skills and groups for sexual abuse survivors, according to a release. 

“These services are developed in an effort to teach young women how to advocate for themselves and others, promote positive self-esteem, foster the development of healthy peer and familial relationships, and learn healthy decision making skills,” said Heather Soener, executive director of YWRC, in a release.
