Ames-based Renewable Energy Group has completed the sale of its Life Sciences assets to Genomatica.

Ames-based Renewable Energy Group has completed the sale of its Life Sciences assets to Genomatica. REG had been working with Clariant and ExxonMobil on sustainable fuels plays, including turning cellulosic sugars into biodiesel. REG CEO Cynthia Warner said Genomatica will be able to “build upon the technical progress we have made, and to advance the team and the technology through to commercialization.”
