Retail sales up in November
Retail sales rose by 0.8 percent in November after a 1.7 percent gain in October, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. Those numbers include Thanksgiving weekend shopping sales, which were up from last year.
“There’s no question this will be the strongest quarter for consumer spending since before the recession,” said Chris Low, chief economist at FTN Financial in New York, in an interview with Bloomberg.
