Des Moines-based SmartyPig LLC’s Cash Rewards Card has been chosen as a 2011 Paybefore Awards winner by analysis website Paybefore.com.

SmartyPig was selected as a winner in two categories: Best General Purpose Reloadable Program: Online Sales Channel and Best Consumer Value in Prepaid.

The card will now compete for the Best-in-Category award to be announced on March 7.

SmartyPig is an online banking company that offers clients a savings mechanism designed to help them set and achieve specific financial goals as they interact with other users. It was founded in 2008 by Mike Ferrari and Jon Gaskell.
