Mike Schreurs, chairman and chief strategist of Strategic America, an employee-owned, marketing and public relations firm based in West Des Moines, announced he will retire effective March 1. Schreurs founded Strategic America in 1980 in Waterloo and relocated the firm to Des Moines in 1994. The firm serves clients in various industries including, home, health, wealth, retail, education, and advocacy. After retiring, Schreurs will continue to serve as a strategic consultant on a part-time basis and remain involved on industry and civic boards. “As his brother and business partner for more than 40 years, I have seen the incredible investment he has made in his community, the profession and the team he has led,” John Schreurs, Strategic America CEO and president, said in a prepared statement. “With a mission of ‘Finding a Better Way Always,’ Mike led Strategic America to be one of the top independent advertising and communications firms in the country.
