Three pieces of wisdom from marketing guru Liz Strauss
Liz Strauss, one of the most influential bloggers and marketers on the Web, has nearly 90,000 Twitter followers and has been named to numerous lists, including the top 100 social media and Internet bloggers. She spoke at CDS Global Inc’s F311, the company’s annual client event that aimed to expose publishers to the cutting edge of digital, social and mobile content distribution. Strauss’s presentation centered on branding methods that businesses – not just publishing companies – can use to be irresistible and in turn develop a community of loyal fans.
Here are three interesting pieces of wisdom I took away from her presentation that could be used in your business.
1.) Make an irresistible offer to your customers
Remove what customers don’t want, enhance what customers love, and add something unexpected that only you can offer.
2.) Be mission critical to your fans…
…not to your own business. Show them that their wants and needs are your wants and needs. Seduce them into wanting your product.
3.) Raise a barn; don’t build a coliseum
Involve your customers in the process of building/tweaking a product. Some of them know your products better than you. Ask for their advice and help; don’t just build it in a vacuum. It makes them part of your brand, and they will love and cherish these things (your products) and want to see them be successful. And, if they build it, not only will they come, but they’ll also bring their friends.
